Use 83gsm when the finished piece must drape and pack small. It is the wrong tool for large tensioned backdrops — those belong on 182gsm satin.
Always confirm exact greige GSM on the sample card before bulk; light satins sit in a narrow band and handfeel changes quickly with a few grams.
